13. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Our Group acknowledges the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and has continued to uphold our
commitment to the core CSR areas, the details as elaborated below.
• Workplace
Our Group recognises the contribution made by our dedicated workforce to the continued success of our
Group. Our Group endeavours to create an inspiring, conducive and pleasant working environment for our
workforce, as part of our policy for talent retention.
It is the Group’s policy that production floor must be maintained clean and orderly organised at all times for
safety consideration. Relevant training and guidance are provided to the employees, from time to time, as the
need arises.
Considering that majority of our workforce are outstation workers, free accommodation are provided to them.
Our Group has also established recreational area for our workforce to achieve work-life balance. Also, for the
convenience of the employees, canteen has been set up within the factory compound to help them to save
the travelling time and cost.
• Environment
Our Group is committed to minimising impact to the environment and encouraging greater sustainability
throughout our business operations. Our environmental protection initiatives include the smart and careful
consumption of resources, while minimising possible carbon emissions and waste generation. Production waste
arising out of our Group’s production process primarily comprised off-cuts in the process of constructing the
bottom part of the shoe, without significant threat of pollutions. Notwithstanding that, careful waste-handling
procedures are put in place whereby all the wastes are being gathered and subsequently forwarded to waste
collection centres for proper disposal to avoid contaminating surrounding public areas.
Our Group has undertaken additional green initiative for our new headquarter and production centre, the layout
of which has been carefully planned to put in place a green landscaping with the factory compound being
surrounded by plants. The extra efforts have rewarded our Group with the award of “Green Factory” by the
Green Committee of Jinjiang City.
• Marketplace
It is the fundamental policy of the Group that all final products to be sold in the market must be hazardless
to be used and fulfil the customers’ expectation in terms of quality. To this end, the Group adopts stringent
quality control in terms of raw material sourcing as well as the manufacturing process for quality assurance.
This is corroborated with the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System attained by the Group. The Group
upholds the belief that consumer rights should be preserved at all times and is on continuous endeavours to
create value-for-money for the customers.
Apart from that, our Group fosters a close collaboration with the appointed distributors (immediate customer
of the ‘XiDeLang’ products). The Group organises product launching and sales conferences periodically, with
the aim to create a platform for cross-sharing of knowledge and experience with and among the distributors,
and to gather feedbacks for future improvements. The Group’s Management maintain regular contacts with
the authorised distributors, and provide necessary guidance and assistance to them to assist them to grow
further. This is beneficial to our Group’s sustainable development and at the same time, will help create more
employment opportunities in the market.
• Community Care
Our Group is dedicated to support the community, particularly the less fortunate. During the financial year, our
Group has volitionally made several donations and sponsorship to local school, old folks association and local
community with the aim to provide a better environment for education and to improve the living standards of
the local community.
